Questions & Interviews
I'm Marc Lawrence and here are 5 things you didn't know about me...
- 1. I was born and raised in the projects. After graduating high school, I dreamed of attending radio broadcasting school, but I simply couldn't afford it. Instead, my wife Colleen and I eloped on a Greyhound bus to Asheville, NC. She became pregnant the very day we married, and nine months and one day later, our only child, Marc Jr., was born.
- 2. Every week during high school, I used to take my mother to the laundromat to wash our clothes. After landing my first job, I received a Christmas bonus and used every penny of it to buy her a washing machine - one of the proudest moments of my life.
- 3. As a kid, my two great passions were sports and music. I'd scour the neighborhood drug store for used 45 rpm records pulled from jukeboxes in local bars, buying them for just twenty-five cents apiece.
- 4. I knew the statistics on the back of every Major League Baseball card like the back of my hand, and I could tell you the artist and title on the B-side of every 45 rpm record on the charts.
- 5. History and math were always my favorite subjects in school. During study hall, while other classmates daydreamed, I'd be reading the Gold Sheet, completely absorbed in the numbers and the games and the stats.
